Reimagining Access to Municipal Finance Data

At Munify, we’re transforming how India understands and engages with city-level public finance. From raw documents to powerful insights — we bring transparency, structure, and intelligence to urban governance data.

From Fragments to Frameworks: Our Journey

Munify began with a simple goal - to make municipal financial data accessible and usable. What started as a repository of municipal budgets evolved into a structured digital library of 4,700+ municipal documents used by over 2,000 professionals.

Moving beyond access, Munify converts unstructured municipal financial documents into standardized datasets. Through a proprietary taxonomy aligned with national accounting standards, the platform enables meaningful comparison of municipal finances across cities.

Today, Munify hosts structured financial data and credit scores for over 200 municipal corporations across India, with modules spanning municipal bonds, property tax, service-level indicators, and economic context-linking fiscal performance with service outcomes.

This work has been recognised through Munify's selection into the SAMRIDH Accelerator, supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and the AMRUT 2.0 Pilot Program, supported by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

Building on this foundation, Munify is developing a municipal financing platform to connect creditworthy cities and bankable urban projects with lenders and development partners, alongside public finance research and advisory support.

Munify's mission remains clear: strengthening municipal finances to enable sustainable urban development in India.
