Who We Are

We started our database with a simple question: why is it so hard to find a municipal budget?

That question led us to build India’s largest municipal finance library. From PDFs and Excel sheets, we moved toward a vision much bigger: a living database that makes municipal finances transparent, comparable, and usable. Today, Munify empowers governments, banks, investors, and citizens to make smarter decisions about urban infrastructure. With data, credit research, and financing tools, we are turning municipal finance from an opaque challenge into an opportunity for growth, investment, and sustainability. Because when city finances are strong, our cities are stronger.

Testimonials

Munify's depth of municipal financial data and its thoughtful structuring make it a powerful platform for rigorous research and policy analysis. It significantly lowers the barrier to high-quality work on municipal finance in India. Dr. Madhu Kalimipalli Ph.D, (Professor of Finance, Wilfred Laurier University)

Munify's data-driven approach offers a practical pathway to expand municipal financing beyond large cities. It is well positioned to support innovative financing models for smaller urban local bodies. Samir Shah,(Executive Co-Chair, Dvara Holdings)

Munify provides the most comprehensive, comparative and thoughtful research on municipal finance in India. As investor interest grows in potential municipal assets, the market can count on this research to facilitate its selection, and monitoring of municipal investments. William Streeter(Infrastructure Finance Specialist)

During my time at NIUA, I worked closely with Munify to develop a co-branded municipal finance dashboard. Munify's objective of enriching municipal finance data, analyses, and visualisations, and making them accessible for informed policy and decision-making, was clearly reflected in the platform's quality and structure. Such data-driven tools are critical for strengthening evidence-based urban governance in India. Hitesh Vaidya(Former Director, National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA))

Munify's platform significantly reduces the effort required to analyse municipal finances and assess city readiness for financing. It is especially useful for consultants and institutions working directly with urban local bodies. Sujatha Srikumar,(Independent Municipal Finance Consultant)
